Sometimes you have to give to get, it depends on who you are giving it to.

I take much pleasure in giving. I would like to get certain things in return, but I know that its not always possible.

It is especially impossible, if I am better at giving or giving w/what I am doing then the receiver could ever be. So, you know this going in. Skilled people do not always get what they put out, but they are good teachers!
Well it sounds like to me, in a way your looking for equal value. Not that you have to be compensated for what you give, but when you become the receiver you want it to be just as good as when you give. Thats totally understandable.
